Week 7: 3-20-19

WE FINISHED OUR CHALLENGE!! We finally completed the figure 8 challenge... and boy does that feel good to say. We ended up running it a couple times to practice and we changed some minor timings and then we did our final run. We got it first official run! Next up is to start thinking about our plan for the next challenge... the tetrahedron challenge.

Week 7: 3-18-19

Our goals this week is finishing the figure eight challenge. We continue to face discontinuous trails with our robot, which we will try to overcome. The figure eight has been altered by Mr. Martin to make it easier on us. He replaced the chairs with cones which gives us a larger area to move in. WE WILL FINISH THE CHALLENGE THIS WEEK.

Week 6: 3-14-19

Setting the robot

So... it's not going as well as we thought the rest of this challenge would go, but I think we're making progress. We've adopted a new starting method, of "resetting" the wheels and gear (thank you Mr. Martin) which we have seen a little improvement in how the robot starts off after we hit play. Along with the new little factor we added, we've also programmed the robot's straight stride times to be longer so it'll have more distance from the chairs. This week has been a cycle of program, test, repeat (just like any week, but more tense because we're approaching crunch time). The Goofy Goobers are all a bit disappointed that we haven't completed the challenge, even though we were so close in the beginning. Cross our fingers for next week? See ya then.

Week 6: 3-12-19

Our main goal for the week is to complete the figure 8 challenge once and for all, I know that the group is pretty over this challenge. We really hope we can finish by Thursday. It would be awesome if we could finish and start thinking about the tetrahedron challenge and our tragedies asap.

Week 5: 3-8-19

OOF

So... I have some bad news. I'm sad to say that we have run into some complications with the usb that set us back... a lot. Wednesday was the Junior SAT so not much of anything got done and today we had to restart our coding because the almost finished code that was on the usb was lost. But have no fear because today we've already completed the code for both laps of the figure 8. The coding is finished, however, the timing is a little wonky. So, for the rest of the day, and most likely going into next week, we'll have to work on perfecting the coding and timing so we have consistent runs.

Week 5: 3-4-19

This week is all about completing the figure 8, we're so close but we need to do some edits so the robot will run consistently. Today we'll be working on those perfections, so fingers crossed we get this challenge done ASAP.
P.S. Sorry for the very similar pictures and GIFs, everyday is basically the same... Edit, test, repeat.
